Overview

Life OS is a private, self-hosted application built for the personal use of its owner and a small, fixed set of household members. There is no public registration. This policy explains what data the application accesses, how it is used and stored, and how you can revoke that access.

Google user data

When you choose to connect a Google account, Life OS requests read-only access to your Google Calendar using the calendar.readonly scope. This is the only Google scope the application requests.

This access is used for a single purpose: to read your calendar events and display them inside the application’s calendar view. Life OS does not create, modify, or delete any events in your Google Calendar.

How your data is used and stored

  • The OAuth tokens issued by Google (used to fetch your calendar on your behalf) are stored securely in the application’s server environment and are never exposed to other users or third parties.
  • Calendar event data is fetched on demand to render the calendar view and is held only transiently to display it. It is not sold, rented, or shared.
  • Life OS does not use Google user data for advertising, and does not transfer it to any third party except as necessary to provide the calendar feature (i.e., requests made directly to Google’s own APIs).
  • No human reads your Google user data, except where required for security purposes (such as investigating abuse), to comply with applicable law, or with your explicit consent.

Limited Use disclosure

Life OS’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Data retention and deletion

You can revoke Life OS’s access to your Google account at any time from your Google Account permissions page. Once access is revoked, the application can no longer fetch your calendar data. To request deletion of any stored OAuth tokens associated with your account, contact the address below.

Other data

Beyond Google Calendar, Life OS stores the personal and household information that account holders enter directly into the application. This data is accessible only to the owner and the specific household members granted access, and is not shared with third parties.
